Synod Deacon's Study Day: Rediscovering the Small Catechism

08:30 AM - 03:00 PM

St. Paul's Lutheran Church
309 Patchogue Road
Port Jefferson Station, US-NY , 11776

An event sponsored by the Diaconate Council for synodically rostered deacons.

Come, let us engage the Small Catechism worshipfully and devotionally, rediscovering its meaning for such a time as this. During this Reformation 500 Anniversary year, Presiding Bishop Eaton has invited everyone in the ELCA to take a deeper look at the Small Catechism, a little work that has had profound impact on Lutherans for centuries. But it may be that we have not really had much to do with the Small Catechism since we were children. To engage the Catechism worshipfully and prayerfully and in holy conversation with each other is a great way to commemorate this 500th Anniversary year of the Reformation’s beginning, and to strengthen our teaching ministries and our work of faith formation. The cost is $35, which includes a light breakfast and lunch. Please complete your registration by September 25, 2017. For more information, contact Synod Deacon John Malone and Nancy Casalino-Malone, co-chairs of the Synod Diaconate Council, at mnysdiaconate@aol.com.
