ASH WEDNESDAY RECOMMENDATIONS

Physical closeness needed to impose ashes is not a good idea under the current circumstances we are experiencing during this pandemic. In order to safely observe Ash Wednesday this year — whether you're offering in-person or remote worship services — the Office of the Bishop would like to provide a few contactless recommendations:

• Provide members with individual packets of ashes. Old Lutheran offers individual ash packets to go. For more information, click HERE.
• Whether worship is in-person or remote, inform congregants that they can ask a member of their household to impose ashes, or they can place them on their own foreheads.
