Child Youth and Family Ministry
Visit our blog: Stories in Faith Mission Statement: To have a grace filled impact on children, youth, emerging adults, and families throughout our synod which boldly empowers all of us to live out our baptismal call in the world. Focus areas: - Baptismal Identity: to articulate a shared common theological understanding for CYFM based in the baptismal covenant...CYFM is at the heart of ministry with every person equally valued from the infant to the elderly.
- Connectivity: to strengthen the network of support for CYFM throughout our synod by connecting people, congregations, conferences, and communities.
- Equipping: to provide training that empowers leadership development in CYFM throughout our synod.
We want to know: Please tell us your stories. We want to know what is going on so that we can share it with other congregations. If you are planning an event, let us know and we will also help get the word out.

Upcoming Events
ELCA Northeast Regional Youth Gathering: www.youthgathering2010.org The Northeast Regional Youth Gathering is a follow-up to the National Youth Gathering. The event takes place on July 22-25, 2010 at West Chester University in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Scholarships: The Metropolitan New York Synod is making up to ten scholarships of $175 available for young people attending the Northeast Regional Gathering. To apply, fill out the application form.

Heart of Ministry - Award of Distinction In 2007, the Child Youth & Family Ministry Committee established an award to recognize congregations doing outstanding child, youth and family ministries. Committee Meetings Child Youth & Family Ministry Committee meetings are open to anyone who wants to attend. If you would like to be part of the committee, just sit in on the meetings, or get on our e-mail list, contact deacon Charlie Germain at Charlieg424@comcast.net.
