Commemorative Eucharist and Festive Reception

05:30 PM - 09:00 PM

Cathedral of St. John the Divine
1047 Amsterdam Avenue
New York, US-NY , 10025

A synod-wide worship and reception for the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.

Join us as we mark this moment in history in the largest gothic footprint in the world, the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine in New York City. A commemorative Eucharist will begin at 6:00pm and feature rich music, including a specially commissioned anthem, ecumenical guests, and a procession. Rev. Dr. Robert Alan Rimbo, bishop of the Metropolitan New York Synod, will preside and preach during this worship service.

On the registration form below, you can choose to join the mass choir or process as a rostered minister of the Metropolitan New York Synod or as an ecumenical or inter-religious partner. Please take note of arrivals and commitments for each.

As the liturgy concludes, we will be sent into a festive time together with food and drinks for all. Doors will open at 5:30pm.

This event is free with a donation of any size. We are grateful to generous sponsors and your donations to make this event accessible for all.
