2012 Pastors’ Compensation Guidelines as of December 19, 2011

Highlights of the changes from the 2011 guidelines include the following:

• a recommended cost of living adjustment of 2.0%
• an increase in the minimum salary for newly ordained pastors from $36,435 to $37,164
• an increase in the minimum housing allowance from $15,000 to $18,000

The current allowed amount is 55.5 cents per mile. It is the recommendation of the synod that congregations follow the IRS guidelines for mileage reimbursement; check the current rate at www.irs.gov.
