Heart of Ministry Award of Distinction

On May 18 at the Synod Assembly, the 2012 Heart of Ministry Award of Distinction was presented to Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Babylon. Pastor Joanne Bond accepted the award on behalf of Cross of Christ. Their ministry was recognized for creatively restructuring what happens after confirmation and allowing space for older youth to be in leadership and positions.

The Heart of Ministry Award of Distinction has been awarded each year since 2007 by the Child Youth & Family Ministry Committee in recognition for outstanding children, youth and family ministries. Nominations can be made by anyone in the Metropolitan New York Synod. The award is presented at the Synod Assembly.
