Mission Strategy Table
The Mission Strategy Table is a group of 10 pastors and lay people who meet every six weeks to help shape pathways for mission. Just as families gather around tables for sharing and mutual support, this is the synod’s "think tank" for:
- developing new ministries
- identifying ministries for redevelopment
- reviewing local and conference mission strategies
- encouraging evangelical mission across the synod.
Who initiates the discussions? Sometimes it’s a congregation or dean who asks the synod, "Here’s something we are considering. Do you think it’s feasible?" Sometimes it’s the synod wanting feedback, for example about a possible territory for a new ministry start.
This group coordinates with the other missional tables of the synod and the Outreach Committee. It is led by Pastor Jack Horner, Assistant to the Bishop for Evangelical Mission, and is accountable to the bishop and the Synod Council.
