Romania Companionship Committee
The Romanian Companionship Committee works to create a bridge of friendship, interaction, and mutual enrichment with Lutherans living in Transylvania. We support two missionaries who are developing an English language ministry in Cluj, Romania, and we are building partnerships between several parishes in our synod and congregations in Romania.
Theological Book Drive
Sharing in theological education is one aspect of our companion relationship. Our partners in Romania have expressed a need for theological books in English to round out the library at their seminary, the Protestant Theological Institute in Cluj. We are seeking theological books from this list. Might you have any of these books on your shelves to donate? Or would you like to purchase new books for our Romanian partners? If so, please email us and let us know which titles you are sending so as to avoid duplicates; the list will be updated periodically. Books can be sent to:

If sending used books, individuals must pay for shipping. Thanks for your willingness to donate books as an embodiment of our companionship!
Reformation Day is very important to our companions in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Romania. For this reason, our congregations are encouraged to pray for our partners on October 28. Download resources to celebrate our companionship. You might also consider making some goulash to share!
