This directory lists the ministries--churches, schools, hospitals and other agencies--that are in or partnered with the Metropolitan New York Synod.

Pastor Directory
All clergy rostered in the Metropolitan New York Synod are listed here with the ministries they are serving. Some clergy working in the synod from other denominations are shown also. This directory is updated monthly.

Deacon Directory
Synodical deacons are rostered leaders who complete a course of study in the diakonia program, complete an internship, and are "set apart" at a ceremony in the spring.

ELCA Rostered Lay Leaders Directory
Each Associate in Ministry, Diaconal Minister or Deaconess completes a course of study and receives a degree from an ELCA seminary. They may serve in congregations, hospitals, schools, or other ministries.

Deans
Conference deans are pastors who serve as liaisons between the synod office and the congregations in their conference. They convene meetings of the conference pastors and lay leaders semi-annually, make visits to pastors new to their area, and attend meetings at the synod office regularly.

Conferences
The synod is divided geographically into 18 conferences. Conferences have two meetings each year to discuss local issues and nominate people for synod offices. Each conference has a dean. The conferences are:

2 - Delaware Hudson (Orange, Rockland and Sullivan counties)
3 - Tappan Zee (Putnam and Westchester counties)
4 - Eastern Nassau
5 - Western Nassau
6 - Southwest Nassau
7 - Peconic (Eastern Suffolk County)
8 - Western Suffolk
9 - Manhattan
10 - Bronx
11 - Staten Island
12 - Southeast Queens
13 - Southwest Queens
14 - Northeast Queens
15 - Northwest Queens
16 - Brooklyn Bridges
17 - South Shore Brooklyn
18 - Southwest Brooklyn
