Director for Finance, Administration and Grant Management

Position scope: Responsible for all MNYS finance and accounting functions

Competencies:

  • Proven experience as Director of Finance or similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
  • Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
  • An analytical mind
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • BS/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field is a plus
  • CPA or other relevant qualification is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preparing financial statements, annual audits in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Report synod financial status to Executive Committee
  • Manage annual budget process
  • Manage cash flow and forecasting
  • Supervise AP staff
  • Handle general accounting requirements, including journal entries, schedules, bank reconciliation
  • Process semi-monthly payroll including new staff paperwork
  • Responsible for grant management
  • Attend weekly, monthly meetings as needed
  • Work closely with COO to set up policies and procedures and internal controls
