Our Mission

St. John–St. Matthew–Emanuel Lutheran Church is a diverse, inclusive expression of three worshipping communities who have joined to serve the Park Slope/South Slope neighborhood with God's Word and Sacrament. As a Reconciling-in-Christ congregation, we affirm gay and lesbian persons and welcome all to full participation in the life of this church, just as Christ has welcomed us.

In 1994, St. John–St. Matthew–Emanuel voted to become a Reconciling in Christ Congregation. We affirm lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, asexual, and queer persons, and their allies, welcoming all to full participation in the life of this church.

Prospect Hill Senior Center

Prospect Hill Senior Services Center was founded in 1974 as a ministry of St. John-St. Matthew-Emanuel. PHSSC offers a wide variety of programs and activies for Seniors in the Park Slope/South Slope neighborhood and beyond. The center is open Monday through Friday, serving breakfast and lunch.
