Council Trainings for Congregations

SC16_2Over the past 4 years of our strategic plan’s development and implementation we have heard from our pastors, Synod Council, and Conference of Deans that one area where we can help local congregations is in council trainings. We are offering six Saturday events that give thanks for congregational council leaders in our synod and equipping them for their leadership. These free trainings will:

  • Consider necessary congregational policies
  • Review council member responsibilities (including officers and pastors)
  • Look at constitutions as missional documents
  • Explore our ELCA ecclesiology of interdependence
  • Attend to best practices for governance
  • Help council members to network with other congregational leaders

Each training will be similar in content and structure. Participants only need to commit to one Saturday. Space is limited in some locations -- reserve your spots early!
