God's work. Our hands.
The interim period for a congregation is the time between two regularly-called pastors. An Interim Pastor serves the congregation during the interim period.
In the past, interim ministry was often thought of as filling a gap; the Interim Pastor was a caretaker for a congregation that temporarily had no pastor.
A newer view, based on research, sees this period as a challenging and productive time for a congregation to re-evaluate its ministry goals and needs. Typical questions are "What is God calling us to be and to do?" and "What do we need to do to prepare for our next pastor?"
