Our Ministries
Youth Ministry
Coordinates activities for youths from 7 to 18 years old that promote spiritual growth in ways to which they can relate.
Christian Education Committee
Plans and supervises teaching and learning ministries (Sunday School, Conformation Class.
Charged with the teaching/guiding youth towards Christian fellowship while relating bible teaching to everyday life, by using the Cokesbury’s One Room Sunday School curriculum.
Coordinating and directing youth plays/skits to be preformed during the church service throughout the year.
Evangelism Committee
Plans and promotes the church’s witnessing of the Gospel.
Finance Committee
Monitors financial affairs of the church; prepares annual budget.
Adopt A Bill
People take on the payment of a full/partial bill for a month
Church Members can volunteer to commit to making full/partial payment of a bill accrued by operating the church, (Con Edison, National Grid/gas, cleaning supplies etc.)
Social Ministry
Community outreach with assistance of food, clothing and financial help.
Stewardship Committee
Ministers to the needs of the sick and shut-in with scheduled visit and follow-up, using their gifts and talents by listening and sharing the word of God to serve others in a time of need.
Worship & Music Committee
Works in preparing worship services; oversees Acolytes, secures supply pastors, speakers and musicians. Preparing weekly bulletins and inserts. Organize First Communion Classes. Coordinating musical presentations at various times throughout the year
Capital Campaign Committee
Engages in fund raising for the church throughout the year (annual Jazz on the Lawn, Grab and Go Dinner, bus trips etc.) with a primary focus on ensuring building mortgage is maintained.
Men’s Ministry
Promotes fellowship, Bible study and discipleship among the men of the church. Engages in local, regional and national LMM projects.
Healthy Congregations
Committee that provides meal for specific Sunday using healthy guidelines
Altar Guild
Prepares the altar for worship and the Eucharist, arrange for the elements of bread and wine to be consecrated by Coverage Pastor. Ensure Lutheran Books of Worship are in place for Sunday Service.
