2025 Delaware–Hudson
The Rev. Mary Lou Baumgartner, Dean
Our conference clergy met five times for fellowship and support in 2024. Currently only one congregation is not in some sort of transition, and only three of eleven of our conference congregations are being served by called pastors (St. Paul, Narrowsburg by Pastor Phyllis Haynes, St. Paul, New City by Pastor Rhonda Hoehn, and King of Kings, New Windsor by Pastor Mary Lou Baumgartner). Pastor Ernie Mossl is serving as interim pastor at Good Shepherd, Pearl River. Three congregations have a pastor who is doing both coverage and pulpit supply: St. Paul, Liberty (Pastor Beth Nebrasky), Grace, Greenwood Lake (Pastor Lena Warren) and St. Peter's, Port Jervis (Pastor Lena Warren). St. Thomas, Nyack and Christ, Newburgh are served by Pastor Rhonda Hoehn (Companion Pastor) and Pastor Mary Lou Baumgartner (Coverage Pastor), respectively. Christ, Ellenville gathers for worship twice a month with support from two retired pastors, Pastor David Meyers and Pastor Paul Johnsen. Other regular supply preachers include Pastor Greg Tennermann, Pastor Tiina Talvitie, Pastor Bob Wollenburg, and Pastor Paul Schmiege. Deacons Paul Lumpkin, Jean Fucci, Irma Bahr-Madrid, Gina Danalinia, Carol Giangrasso, and soon-to-be-set-apart Belynda Barton also provide worship leadership. We give thanks for congregational presidents who are stepping into the breach to provide leadership.
We are grateful for God's faithfulness as we continue on the wilderness journey of finding new models for ministry. We are working with deacons who provide support for ministries and leadership for worship.
We are grateful for pastors from other conferences who assist us in worship leadership.
