Worship Committee

Worship Committee

The gathered people of God celebrate the sacrament. Holy Communion, usually celebrated within a congregation, also may be celebrated in synodical, churchwide, and other settings where the baptized gather. (Use of the Means of Grace, Principle 39)

The Worship Committee of the Metropolitan New York Synod is a group of Bishop-appointed members whose task is to plan worship for synodical gatherings. Whether ordinations, retreats, setting apart of deacons, synod assemblies, or other events, we strive to represent the rich tradition of Lutheran worship in contemporary contexts, using the Church’s wide range of resources that celebrate our diverse communities.

The members of the worship committee are S. Dcn. Ingrid Compton, The Rev. Zachary Dean, S. Dcn. Donna-Mari Fieldsa, S. Dcn. Elke Hekler, The Rev. Arden Strasser, and The Rev. Analyse Triolo.
