Welcome Letter
Dear Friends in Christ,
On behalf of the Synod Assembly Planning Team, I extend a warm welcome to the 2023 Metropolitan New York Synod Assembly! We are thrilled to have you back in person for our two-day assembly at the Marriott Hotel in Melville, Long Island. Our team has put together a comprehensive agenda, complete with elections, resolutions, reports, and presentations from our ministry partners within and outside the synod. Despite a full agenda, we have ensured there will be ample time for you to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and learn more about our synod.
It has been three years since our last in-person assembly, and a lot has changed in that time. Our team is dedicated to providing the same level of comfort and quality that you have come to expect from our gathering, along with exciting new additions. Over the past six months, we have worked tirelessly to plan and coordinate every aspect of this assembly, ensuring that our time together is meaningful and productive.
Included in this year's bulletin of reports, you will find information about our synod's various ministries and partners, both in Metro NY and in the wider church. We are grateful for the hard work and commitment of our stewards of faith, who make it possible for our synod to carry out God's mission in the Metro New York area.
This year's theme, "Live Like Christ in Our Communities," highlights the Gospel calling to make a difference in the world around us. Our presentations, workshops, and display tables will demonstrate how this theme is being put into action every day in the Metropolitan New York Synod. Together, we can be the change that Jesus calls us to be, making a difference in our communities on a daily basis.
As the MNYS Events Manager and a member of the Synod Assembly Planning Team, I am honored to be a part of this year's gathering. We hope you will take advantage of all the incredible opportunities the assembly has to offer.
