Award-winning pianist Lucas Amory is quickly establishing himself in New York City as a versatile and multi-talented performer. Today’s eclectic program contrasts the atmospheric Etudes of Debussy and the ecstatic “Traced Overhead” by British composer Thomas Adès with the rigorous structures of Bach. It concludes with the first of Beethoven’s late period piano sonatas, Op. 101, a deeply personal work the composer himself described as “a series of impressions and reveries.”
Tuesday, October 20, 12 noon. Free. Hosted by Advent Lutheran Church.
