"Money and possessions," Luther wrote, are "the most common idol on earth." In his Large Catechism, he taught that whatever we rely on most functions as our god, whether we call it that or not. Luther's teaching calls us to examine that reliance honestly and to use what we have in service of our neighbor.
If you joined our Luther and Evangelism and Luther and Discipleship webinars, this is a fitting next step: thinking with Bishop Katrina Foster about how Luther's theology can shape our relationship to money and finance.
Join Bishop Foster on Wednesday, September 2, at 5:00pm and Thursday, September 3, at 12:00pm for a presentation on Luther and Financial Stewardship, followed by conversation and Q&A. Both sessions are identical to offer more options to attend. These sessions will not be recorded.
