We Are Resilient Together

We have met with pastors and lay leaders to share ideas about resources we could supply to congregations, to assist them in the work of evangelical outreach in their local communities. We have met via Zoom meetings and attended a national conference in Virginia to expand our knowledge of how churches develop fresh expressions of ministry. We have contacted some resource people to determine their availability to come to MNYS to speak at events we sponsor.

We Are Hopeful Together

One approach to expanding our ability to reach out to unchurched people is to develop "fresh expressions" of ministry, thinking out-of-the-box about how to meet people with the gospel in their own context, rather than having to come to church to hear the gospel. Fresh Expressions is an internationally known, ecumenical approach to proclaiming the gospel to people of all backgrounds, ethnicities, and socio-economic backgrounds. We also want to support the efforts of the synod in bringing congregations together to form shared ministry experiments using a variety of models currently being used in other denominations and countries. We believe that the gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who has faith, and we want to do all we can to help each other live out that reality in our local centers for mission.

We Are Church Together — Living Like Christ in Our Communities!

The CEM will organize a variety of events and activities designed to bring leaders together to support one another and share resources with each other. By organizing large group events, small support groups for leaders, training events for members of congregations who are able to evangelize, and providing consultation for individual churches and/or conferences to help them develop their ministries, we can help churches carry out their local mission activities.
